Thinking About the Photo Contest

I was sorting out the infamous ABFM trailer and came across the easels for the Photo contest at the Cocktail on Friday night. I thought that I would take a moment to remind the photographically gifted among us to share your passion! Over the years folks have used their skills to create some visually dynamic and dramatic works which have certainly brought lots of pleasure to those of us for whom the “idiot” camera was invented…

Looking forward to this year’s photo treats…

The ABFM is happy to announce that Triumph of Tacoma has joined our ranks and will be having a display of the exciting new Triumph Motorcycle line at the show. We hope that this signals a return of the fabulous British two wheeler community to the event! And… almost as exciting, we have made arrangements for a real espresso cart with barista, muffins, scones and other essential nutrients starting early and going until folks are no longer thirsty…

Griot’s is one of our honored sponsors, and will be providing a nice array of goodies to be raffled off at the Cocktail party along with sponsoring our “Survivor Award” for best original, unrestored car! As they say, “Have Fun in Your Garage”!

We would like to remind one and all that we will be having our annual PHOTO CONTEST at the ABFM Cocktail Party at Club Auto Kirkland the evening before the show. There will be trophies! Photos should be 8″ x 10″ or so, black & white or color and involve a Little British Car. This is a very enjoyable part of our party and attendees look forward to this with great anticipation!

Well… we will hopefully be seeing the rarest of the rare… a Morris Minor Million. December 1960, the British Motor Corporation realized that for the very first time, one of their products had sold ONE MILLION copies. To celebrate this, they took 350 Morris Minors from teh December production line, painted them a striking Lavender color and adorned them with special script that acknowledged this tremendous feat. Best estimates are that just under 20% of these cars are still in existence, and we are thrilled to welcome one of them to this year’s ABFM. Even better, the daughter of this Morris Enthusiast has a bright yellow convertible Morris Pedal Car – and it will be coming to the show too!

You all know the entry form is online, but if you’d prefer to send us a paper copy with your payment details, that’s fine, too! And for those of you who would like to be able to print your own copy of the poster or insert it into your club newsletters, we have a “small” version available now, too. It’s still 2400 pixels wide, so should provide good resolution for printing up to a full sheet or printer paper.
