For 2012, the Western Washington All British Field Meet will be inaugurating a new class of awards. In an ongoing effort to encourage and nurture young folks to take part in and learn the joys of the Little British Car hobby, we will be working closely with the Boys’ and Girls’ club of America to involve a handful of youngsters as judges. These young folks will be given some insight into how a car is evaluated on the show field and what sorts of things to look for, then, they will be turned loose to examine and evaluate cars for special trophies.

In recognition of two very special automotive historical anniversaries, the models that our young judges will be evaluating are:

  1. The MGBs, in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the launch of world’s most popular sportscar;
  2. Lotus, in recognition of the 60 years since Colin Chapman introduced the world to the joy that is a Lotus.

These young folks will be free to establish their own methods of evaluation, and their choices will no doubt be both surprising and rewarding. Any enthusiast should be very proud to be chosen for these trophies. The trophies and this judging are inspired by and intended to compliment the efforts of Hagerty Classic Car Insurance to bring young folks into all areas of the collector car community.
